Join Our Call to Action!

October is Emotional Wellness Month

During the month, we will be calling attention to how we promote mental health and well being at Prime Time House in order to educate, share resources and reduce the stigma of mental illness.

The coronavirus pandemic has changed almost every aspect of people's lives including some people's mental health.  The number of people with anxiety disorders has tripled.  The number of people experiencing depression has increased fourfold.  Prime Time House would like to raise awareness of this important issue and provide resources to the community.

Sandra Reese, an expert with 20 years of experience in supported employment, will facilitate a seminar with the NW Chamber of Commerce to educate employers on recognizing mental health problems and how to create a mental health-friendly work environment.

October 23:  Virtual Seminar & Discussion

In partnership with the Torrington Library, we will offer an online screening of BEDLAM, a film that highlights the nation’s mental health crisis, followed by a virtual discussion on October 26th, with Dr. Kenneth Paul Rosenberg, a psychiatrist, filmmaker, and brother of a person with schizophrenia.

October 24-25:  Access to Video
October 26:  Panel Discussion

The entire contents of an exquisite Cornwall, CT home have been donated to Prime Time House and will be auctioned off by Litchfield County Auctions during the Asian Arts & Fine Arts Auction on Wednesday, October 28 starting at 10:00 am.  Home items include fine art, oriental rugs, home furnishings and antiques.  Select items sold during this event will directly benefit Prime Time House.

October 15:  Online viewing and bidding begins.
October 28:  Live online auction event.
